4th of July Celebration

St. Luke’s presence on the Village Green in Amherst on the 4th is an important and festive outreach to the community. It is a lively meet and greet experience for all. Children love the fish tank where they hear Bible verses and receive prizes. Adults interact with members and clergy in a meaningful and fun atmosphere. Once again, cake pops have been donated by Cupcakes 101 in Bedford and are expected to be a popular treat with folks.

Having said all that, our intrepid chair person, Laurie DiPietro, needs your help! There is a sign-up sheet and schedule downstairs on the kitchen counter at the church. Most needed are many people to be at the booth following the parade to supervise the fish tank, hand out cake pops, and just be a friendly greeter, answering any questions that may arise. Particularly if it’s a hot day, it is helpful to have lots of people there to switch off the various positions. As usual, the tent will be up, chairs and water will be available. Even if you just come and sit in the shade, your presence is appreciated, and you will have a great time!

July 9th Service

Rev. James Long, our missionary to Indonesia, will be our guest preacher. He will talk about his work with Providence Anglican Church in Jakarta and his ministry among the native Chinese-speaking population.

We are pleased to present St. Luke’s new website. Take a look!

Bible Studies at St. Luke’s

Studying God’s Holy Word is vital to our growth as Christians, but sometimes people are hesitant to attend a Bible Study for fear of “not knowing enough” or just general hesitancy to engage with others. St. Luke’s Bible Studies welcome all, regardless of background, church affiliation, or level of knowledge. It is an environment where it is ok to just listen, ask questions, or make comments. Come join us if there is that nagging question about the faith which you’ve always wanted to ask. On Tuesdays, a small core of volunteers provides soup before we start the discussion. Maybe the Saturday group should provide donuts? (No competition here though)

Saturday Bible Study – 11:00

Tuesday Bible Study – 5:45
